OUR STORY
TWIMBLING SWEETNESS
Its all about that day I decided to make my own child’s cake. I had never in my life baked more than a round thing with icing in between two layers and we called it cake.
Well I ended up making a Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse cake (insane I know) I didn’t think anything other than - hey I want two cakes for my baby’s second birthday.
Five years passed and I decided again, hey I want to make my child’s own cake and would you believe I dreamt of Snow White and the seven dwarfs. So of course I called up my bakey-kinda friend and colleague Sharon, told her my intention and forced her to come help me because I had NO CLUE how. All I knew was that I knew what I wanted, but clueless how to make it all come together.
Allow me to whisper (hell no, I’m shouting out loud teehee) I have never ever asked anyone for help again. (Except when I have mental block on gritty things) In that one bake, I felt something come alive. It was MAGIC. Just ask Sharon - it turned out a genuine work of magic. I wanted this way, she showed me how. I wanted that, she showed me what wouldn't work. I change my mind, that’s okay, she had a piping bag ready to show me how to fit the damn thing together. Wafer-chocolate roof, jelly tot flowers, liquorice windows, biscuit rocks, white icing snow, marshmellow titbits - I mean I really went to town with my imagination! To this day I have not seen a more fabulous Snowhite cake. Even if I did have plastic dwarfs in the end teehee.
The rest, as the saying goes - Is history. She’s 28 this month (April 2018) and a unicorn cake on a roundabout is the order for the year... Ah, sigh - some things never change and ain’t that Grand!
Welcome to my world. Where cake twimbling means satisfying the mojo by letting the love flow, where all things are sugar and shimmery and where cakes look like a party and taste like a celebration!
